"Kimmy McCann, a veteran of the downtown L.A. art scene... [has] been known to present homeless saxophonists alongside traditional Sikh singers, and once even a nature-inspired installation artist planted grass in the stairwell of her gallery at one of her openings." – James Verini. "At the Core of Culture." Los Angeles Times. April 3, 2003. |
Kimmy McCann's extensive background in design and marketing is the backbone of image development and promotional efforts at Core One Creative. A second generation entrepreneur, McCann has served in leading roles at businesses and organizations dedicated to advancing art and design for more than two decades. Prior to joining Core One Creative in 2003, McCann worked as a director for the Downtown Los Angeles Neighborhood Council and was also Founder and Chair of the Council's Arts, Aesthetics, and Culture Committee, which successfully lobbied for the creation of Downtown LA's Gallery Row. She was elected to the position following her efforts to bring attention to the Downtown art scene through a series of popular multi-media events and artist promotions she called "Zone 9."
